These terms govern the use of the Coin Value Snap app. By creating an account and using the app, you agree to what is written here.
Coin Value Snap is a cataloguing and community tool for coin collectors: scanning and identifying coins with artificial intelligence, organising your collection, gamification (XP, levels, badges, streaks), a friends list and a discovery/message board to make it easier for collectors to get in touch.
The app is an organisation and community tool. It is not an auction house, a shop, a broker or a professional appraisal service, and nothing in it constitutes investment advice on collectibles.
The estimated value, rarity, year and other details of each coin are generated by an artificial intelligence model (Claude, by Anthropic) from the photo you submit. It is an estimate and it can be wrong — it is not a professional appraisal or a market quote. For potentially high-value coins, we recommend verification with a recognised grading service (such as PCGS or NGC) before selling, insuring or making any financial decision.
The account is created with email and password. Use an address that belongs to you and keep the password secret — everything that happens in your account is treated as done by you. You can delete your account at any time through the account deletion page.
The "Marketplace" feature helps collectors find each other and talk about coins for sale or of interest. The app does not process payments, does not hold funds in escrow, does not verify authenticity or condition, does not handle shipping and is not a party to any negotiation. Any trade or sale agreed between users happens at their own risk, outside the app.
If something goes wrong in a deal arranged through chat, we have no way to reverse or refund it — there is no transaction of ours involved. Arrange carefully and be wary of requests for advance payment from strangers.
There is zero tolerance for harassment and abusive content. You can block another user (which prevents contact and hides their content) and report a conversation or user for our review. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.
You agree not to circumvent the free plan limits, not to scrape other users' data in bulk, not to manipulate the leaderboard or scoring, not to use the app for illegal purposes and not to interfere with the security or operation of the service.
The app is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect damages, for value estimates that turn out to be incorrect, or for trade/sale agreements made between users (section 4). Nothing here limits rights granted by the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code that cannot be waived by contract.
How your data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. The date of the last update always appears at the top of this page.
These terms are governed by Brazilian law, with jurisdiction at the consumer's domicile as provided by the Consumer Protection Code.
